Department of Information Technology

The Department of Information Technology was established in the year 1999 with an aim to help students emerge as well-equipped and competent technologists, and successfully meet the myriad challenges posed by the field of Information Technology. The Department offers a four year undergraduate degree program in Information Technology with an annual intake of 120 students. The programme is affiliated to Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), Lucknow.

The Department boasts of experienced faculty members who work ceaselessly to equip students with the latest technologies in the field of IT. It has state-of-the-art labs with R & D facilities. Along with aiding to gain technical expertise; the students, are also encouraged to participate in technical fests, paper presentations and competitions held in IITs and other reputed universities and colleges. The faculty members also exhibit enthusiastic involvement in Project Guidance, Industrial Interactions, Research Activities, Seminars and Workshops, and Co-curricular activities are duly emphasized.

The Department has high placement record. Many of the students are pursuing post graduate courses in universities abroad and in IITs, NITs and management institutes or serving in multinational, public sector companies, or have been selected in government jobs. Students also get placed in reputed companies like Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Birlasoft, to name a few. Apart from teaching the regular subjects in the engineering course, the department also offers a wide range of elective subjects, which benefits the students in pursuing their field of interest so as to specialize and concentrate more on fields relevant to their project. These include Digital Image Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Artificial Neural Networks, Multimedia ,Mobile Computing etc. NIBBLE is a society run by students of CSE and IT Department that helps promote technical and other creative skills and leadership qualities among the students. Monitoring of the academic as well as the overall performance of the student is effectively done by implementing student-mentor and Class Coordinator (Counselor) schemes.
