INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO 400/200 KV GIS SUBSTATION, MAHARANIBAGH, NEW DELHI

On 28th September 2016, the Electrical Engineering department organized an industrial visit at Maharani Bagh GIS substation for the students of V semester B.Tech (EE) who were accompanied by three faculty members of the department namely Mr. Arun Rawat, Mr. Udit Mittal and Mr. Pradeep Kanavi. The substation is operating at 400/220 KV and being the first 400 KV GIS substation in India built by Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, commissioned in 2007. Report

Narora Atomic Power Station

The academic visit started with the interaction with the Station Director and other senior officials of NAPS in the Station Training Center where a detailed presentation on the Narora Atomic Power Station and its operation was shown to the group of students. The various safety aspects of the NAPS and their preparedness to any mishap and benefits were discussed.

A group of 42 students from 6th semester went to the Narora Atomic Power Station and were accompanied by the faculty of Electrical Dept. Mr. Nirmal Kr. Agarwal and Ms. Sangeeta Singh.

Substation & Automation Lab

Installation of Substation Automation Laboratory is association with Schneider Electric Infrastructure Ltd. Noida. This laboratory will provide hands on experience. The department has signed MOU for 15 Years and the laboratories will be helpful in getting placement also.

JSS Academy of Technical Education, Noida has established Substation Automation Lab in association with Schneider Electric Infrastructure Limited, Noida.

The Lab includes the recent state of the art facilities like Numerical relays, Intelligent Electronic Devices, GATEWAY and Digital Energy Analyzer and all are compatible with IEC61850.

Mr.Stephane Gadey, R & D head, Schneider Electric from France addressed the students & faculty members of the Electrical Engineering Department about development of activities and association with JSSATEN.He also assured that it will open many opportunities for the students regarding industrial exposure during their B.Tech course and placement after successful training in the facility.

Prof. V.K.Chandna, HOD, Electrical Engineering Department being incharge of Lab assured him the outcomes based on project delivery, research paper and workshops.

Prof.T.N.Nagabhushana, Principal, JSSATEN, Expressed his vision of expending the facilities and initiation of industry link post-graduation program.

Schneider Electric Infrastructure Limited has also presented excellence certificate to the students of JSSATEN on successful delivery of an assigned project.
