The B.Tech. program is a four-year course oriented undergraduate program. The course work is spread accross all the 8 semesters. The courses include a set of core courses offered by the department, some free electives.Each batch of students max of 4 and min of 2 per batch must start working towards a project in the seventh semester and finally complete the projects towards the fulfillment of the degree requirements.

The B.Tech program focuses on providing a sound theoretical background as well as good practical exposure to students in the relevant areas. It is intended to provide a modern, industry-oriented education in applied electrical engineering. It aims at producing trained professionals who can successfully meet the demands of the industry.

Typically,a B.Tech in electrical engineering is a full-time degree course with a duration of four years (eight semesters). It covers various aspects of electrical fundamentals, study of various ac and dc elecrical machines, giving exposure to various softwares like MATLAB, CAD etc.

Objectives of the B.Tech Electrical Engineering course
Program Outcomes (PO's)
  1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
  8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
  9. Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
  10. Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions
  11. Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

Program Educational Outcomes (PEO's)
  1. To prepare students to excel in Industry and Higher education by Educating Students along with High moral values and Knowledge.
  2. To provide students with the fundamentals of Engineering Sciences with more emphasis in Electrical Engineering by way of analyzing and exploiting engineering challenges.
  3. To train students with good scientific and engineering knowledge so as to comprehend, analyze, design, and create novel products and solutions for the real life problems.
  4. To inculcate professional and ethical attitude, effective communication skills, teamwork skills, multidisciplinary approach, entrepreneurial thinking and an ability to relate engineering issues with social issues.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSO's)
  1. Demonstrate appropriate knowledge to utilize modern engineering hardware and software tools in all areas of Power System to engage in lifelong learning and ensure adaptability to multi disciplinary areas.
  2. Apply engineering knowledge in the field of Power Electronics, Electric drives and Machines to identify, formulate, analyze, design and implement complex engineering problems to provide professional engineering solutions as per the norms of ethical engineering practices.
  3. Identify, analyze, formulate, design, develop, implement and apply engineering solutions in the area of control system and allied fields.
